The Animal Protection League of SC (APL) is a local non-profit humane organization founded in 1982 by concerned individuals who love and respect animals. Our goal is to provide a safe haven for the community’s abused and abandoned dogs and cats and place them in permanent loving homes. [ Read our mission statement ]

APL is funded solely through private donations and volunteer fundraising activities. All funds go toward animal care, either directly through food shelter and medical care, or indirectly through shelter expenses, adoption activities and other costs of operation.

 

Thanks to the miracle of modern technology anyone with a PayPal account can now make a donation to the APL right from this site. Enter the word "Donation" in the box marked "Payment For" and then log in using your PayPal account and password. Once you have completed the transaction, close the browser window to return to this site. Remember, PayPal is totally secure, and your donation to the APL is tax deductable. Thank you!

 

 

APL is registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity. All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

 

The Shelter:

The APL shelter is located at 6080 Old Leesburg Road in Hopkins. Shelter hours are 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For further information and directions, visit the Shelter Information page.
